Donna Packard, Armonia Eco Village homeowner
“It wasn’t until I saw the “Pool House” in Armonia and met Lorn Houston, that I became serious about buying a property in Costa Rica. Lorn is a person of quality and integrity, who possesses a complimentary blend of being and understanding two cultures, Canadian and Costa Rican.
He understands the desire to encompass modern esthetics and quality with the functionality and style designed for the tropical land of Costa Rica.
It is easy to see why Lorn has such a great following of satisfied clients. Buying one of his properties and working with Lorn has proven to be one of life’s best experiences. He will not sacrifice or compromise quality and values, hence Armonia Eco Village is like no other due to Lorn’s love of nature, the land, and attention to detail.
There is not a better builder, or a person who cares more deeply than Lorn. Knowing he has chosen to make Armonia his home assures that great things will continue to happen in the future for this new community and special properties.
Both Jen and Stuart are successful business people, and Jen is a fabulous chef who will be offering her catering services in the area. The Millars’ involvement, and the knowledge that our property will be in such good hands, adds so much to our enthusiasm for building in Armonia.”
Kathy Swanwick, property owner, Armonia Eco Village
“It was the ocean view, refreshing breeze, and exotic wildlife that first drew my husband, Kevin, and me to Lot #9 in Armonia Eco Village.
We love Montezuma, and were hoping to build a vacation/rental home there. We looked at a number of other properties nearby, but were continually drawn back to “our lot’’ in Armonia. It had so much to offer, including the fact that it is a gated community with 24-hour security. And the last time we visited the property before buying, a family of white-face monkeys paused – just a few feet in front of us – to give us a curious glance before scurrying up the closest tree. Irresistibly charming!
Still, this was a very big decision for us, in a really bad economy.
However, there were two very important aspects to Armonia that eventually compelled us to buy that lot and begin planning for our home.
One was the development’s master builder, Lorn Houston.
A native Canadian, Lorn has lived in Costa Rica for 35 years and is a very talented and environmentally conscientious builder.
I have seen several of the homes he is building in Montezuma; all are given an exceptional amount of care and detail. He’s also a wonderful person, very easy to work with, and deeply committed to the vision he has for Armonia. We love that he promotes eco-friendly practices like solar and wind energy, rainwater collection tanks, “greywater’’ recycling for landscape irrigation, and much more. He has a terrific reputation for responsible building, and we look forward to starting our project very soon.
The other critical selling point, for us, was Monos y Mangos, Armonia’s new management corporation. Monos y Mangos is owned and operated by our dear friends Jen and Stuart Millar who have recently moved their family to Montezuma. They live just five minutes from the community and have so much to offer to Armonia owners.”
